Women’s Autumn Winter Trends

With the autumn/winter season well underway, we’re past the transitional wardrobe phase and very much into the required cold weather layering. While the cold and dreary days may leave you a little melancholic, the latest Autumn/winter fashion trends will put that smile back on your face and may even make you excited about the dropping temperatures.

You may be tempted to stay cozy and comfy indoors but fashion designers have definitely made it tempting to put on the layers and brave the frosty weather. We’ve narrowed down the top ten fashion trends that give extra reason to love the season and get you even more excited to head out for all the holiday festivities.

Oversized Coats

Oversized coats have been an oversized trend (we couldn’t resist the pun) over the past seasons and they’re not going anywhere. Who can resist a warm and cozy coat especially when it’s big enough to swallow you up and keep you safe from the elements, while looking oh so chic? No one, that’s who.

Cropped Knit Tops

We all love a little sense of irony. Knit to keep you warm but cropped to show off some skin. It’s the perfect top to have fun with layers. Once you’re indoors, watch the temperatures rise as you show off that hot cropped top.

Faux Fur

More and more luxury designers are eschewing real fur in favor of faux fur materials. Not only are they animal friendly and cruelty-free, today’s technologies ensure that faux fur can keep you just as warm and look just like the real thing. Caring for all living creatures is definitely fashionable.

Neon

Brighten up the long, dark nights with a bold pop of neon color. Neon and fluorescent colored coats, hoodies, dresses, and shoes will ensure you stand out from the crowd.

Patterns

If florals are for spring then patterns are certainly for fall. Plaid, tartan, herringbone, houndstooth, argyle and checkerboard patterns in various colors and fabrics were all over the most fashionable runways. The festive patterns are perfect for all your holiday events, and of course, perfect for all the holiday photos.

Large puffers

Puffers have never been chicer. While usually associated with a more relaxed, streetwear aesthetic, this season’s puffer jackets are more statement making outerwear. A broad range of designers from Off-White to Chanel and Dries Van Noten have designed puffer jackets that are meant for more than just casualwear or the ski slopes.

Bucket Hat

When it comes to Autumn/Winter fashion, your headwear is just as important as any other outerwear garment to keep you both comfortable and fashionable. This season, the bucket hat is the must have accessory to top off your outfit.

Florals for Fall

While the Devil Wears Prada’s Miranda Priestly may not be impressed with florals for spring, she may sing a different tune when it comes to florals for Fall. Prada, Givenchy and Moncler are just a few of the brands that have made bright floral prints a new Autumn/Winter must have.

Metallics

It’s definitely shiny, shimmery and splendid and perfect for all the fun social events that come with this time of year. Why stick to your basic black coat when you can paint the town red in a fun and fabulous metallic coat or dress?

Hood

We know that the vain don’t complain but really, at the end of the day, we all want to look good without having to sacrifice our comfort for it. What could be more comfortable than a hoodie? You don’t have to look like you rolled out of bed just because you’re wearing one. Snuggle up and still look super stylish in this season’s chic hoodies that can take you from day to night.
