At the moment, many of us are staying at home and keeping safe indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic. If we’re fortunate enough to be able to work from home, we need to do our part in order to flatten the curve and support all the frontliners who are out there risking their lives. As these unprecedented times have many of us feeling unsettled and anxious, we need to make sure to take care of not only our physical health but also our mental and emotional health.


Of course, self-quarantine and staying at home doesn’t mean sitting around, doing nothing and being bored while wearing the same sweats or pyjamas. In fact, many have found themselves even busier as cities are on lockdown with having to work from home, cook for themselves and their families and in some cases, home school their children. It’s important to strike a balance. Yes, there are things that must be done but we must also find joy in the moment, discover the good and create our own happiness. One way to easily enhance our mood and lift our spirits is by choosing what we wear. After all, fashion is a creative outlet and a way for us to express ourselves and to say how we feel without even having to speak.


Just because you’re staying home doesn’t mean you should look sloppy or unkempt. In fact, it’s actually the perfect time to dress however way you feel like and experiment with trends. Right now, pretty much anything goes and there are no dress codes to follow. You can even update your wardrobe and start dreaming of all the outfits you’ll wear once quarantine and lockdown are lifted. With that in mind, you’ll want to look to the latest Spring trends and how you can achieve the Spring urban look for yourself.

 

 

The easiest way to get into the Spring fashion mood is by updating your everyday basics with the season’s on trend colours of saffron yellow, flame red, grape, and faded denim, just to name a few. The bright and happy colours will also surely lift your own spirits. For an on trend take on the usual leisure wear, put on a two-piece track suit or a hoodie and joggers instead. Yes, put the workout tank top and yoga pants aside and switch them up with other eye-catching coloured athleisure wear options. The tracksuit in particular is not only on trend now, it’s also a nod to the 90’s, which we’re all throwing back to.

 

 

While you may only be stepping out to go on a grocery run or to the pharmacy, take it as an opportunity for some normalcy in these days that blend into each other. Throw on a faux fur hoodie for a street style lockdown edition. If it’s a little too warm where you are for a full-on coat, put on a faux fur vest instead to still look stylish even for your short trip out. As it may only be a short period of time outside your house, you can save wearing your faux fur coat for your first big night out post lockdown. 

 

As the saying goes, look good and feel good. We can look to fashion to help us achieve a big chunk of that. Not only do we need this now more than ever, we can also add do good to that.
